These recent weighty discussions have stemmed from thinking about my pictures in preparation for the talk I gave last night. While struggling to work out how I could possibly communicate what I feel about my work I had to accept that my pictures are intended to express something that I struggle to put into words.
No real conclusions were reached except that creativity in communication is useful and that we are complex beings with complex experiences and do best to utulise the whole range of communicative techniques available to us.
Ken Robinson gave a recent TED lecture entitled Do Schools Kill Creativity? where he touches on all these subjects. I think he's amazing and thought you might be interested in it.
